As some of you may or may not have known, the F.I.R.E. Institute has been searching for a gun club in SW PA ever since the closing of GPGC. Last month Pete and I attended the PMSC BoD's meeting and addressed the board with regard to PMSC hosting our classes.
They contacted us last week and requested that we attend the general membership meeting as they were going to have the members vote on the matter. We were again given an opportunity to *plead our case* so to speak and answer questions.
I'm happy to report that the motion to allow us use of their facility was approved. The primary issue, and understandably so, was liability. That matter has been put to rest by Peter and myself becoming members. They talked to their insurance carrier and were informed that so long as we are members, our training classes are viewed as a club activity and will be covered under the clubs policy.
Any former members of GPGC who have been looking for a new club to join should consider PMSC. It is a very nice and well maintained club. It is located in North Versailles which is on the east side of Pittsburgh (about 10 minutes south of Monroeville).

In addition to the general rifle and pistol ranges, the IPSC league has built a dozen or so ranges in the back part of the club. Most are pistol sized bays but two are suitable for carbine use (30 yards by 50 yards) and they have one 150 yard range under construction.
When we were at the BoD's meeting last month I arrived early and took some pictures. They even have a shoot house.
