Default Re: IF YOU HAVE A BEER AND ARE CARRYING...

Good question.
I do not think there is any statute prohibiting consuming alcohol in a public venue while carrying a handgun (cc or oc)

Remember that the issuing authority (Co. Sheriff) CAN revoke your LTCF for "good reason". I would venture a guess that being intoxicated while carrying would be hard to defend as not being a "good reason" in court, statute or no statute. But I am only speculating on this point.

Common sense of course dictates one should not become intoxicated while carrying a firearm, particularly in public But again, I know of no statues but will look when I get a spare minute.

Personally I generally do NOT consume alcohol while carrying in public with only the occasional single beverage at a social event or diner, etc. But a single beverage would be the limit. All these exceptions have been while CC'ing. I have never consumed alcohol while OC'ing in public, but have been known to down a couple at home while OC'ing
