Hi, I just got my license a few weeks ago and I have some questions with carrying firearms in my truck. Basically I just want to know what I should know when carrying a gun in my truck. I keep getting different answers from different people I talk to so I figured I'd come here and get my facts straight. Now I know I need a hunting license (which I have) and the gun needs to be somewhere that I cannot access from the cab (in my toolbox) and it needs to be unloaded with the shells somewhere else (behind my seat), but what else do I need to know so I don't get in trouble. For now the only time I'll have it is for groundhog hunting that the local farm I work at. The gun I'll be using the most is my 17 hmr. Oh, and something I was thinking about, is it legal to carry a gun that is illigal for hunting such as a 10-22 semi? I tried to find this info out online but didn't really have any luck.
