Default Re: I'm surprised this got missed

I am pleased, I suppose, to see that he is not advocating circumventing the assembly to illegally pass laws, which is what I thought at first.

The only way he can get what he wants to amend or repeal the UFA or our constitution. That being said I am drafting a correspondence to reply because I am sick of this prick.

I would appreciate thoughts and critique.

I will be submitting this anywhere that will accept it.

This correspondence is made with regard to the most recent attempt by our governor to subvert the will of the people for his own personnel interests. His latest attempt to build a coalition of the states mayors to conspire and limit my second amendment rights through attempting to create a patchwork of gun restrictions is in direct violation of our states laws and constitution. If our governor is such a great leader and truly believes that the UFA needs repealing, and our constitution needs amending, he should have the stones to go before the people he claims to represent and state where his heart felt beliefs lie.

Our governor ultimately wants to enact a registration system under the guise of tracking stolen guns, reduce gun ownership to one gun a month, and worse of all, enable local communities to enact their own restrictions on the flow, distribution and use of handguns.

The UFA was passed to prevent elected officials from unilaterally changing laws in an attempt to circumvent the state assembly. Any current attempts to do so is in direct violation of the UFA and our state constitution that our elected officials have sworn to uphold

The only way the governor’s plan can legally succeed is to convince the assembly to give in to his, and others, increasingly tyrannical control over our lives. He is grasping at straws instead of facing the reality that decades of gun control laws have failed the public
as promised. Political promises are fleeting and often only garner the support of those that propose them long enough to suit their own needs. When constitutional rights are eroded they are gone forever.

Criminals when caught perpetrating a violent crime need to face justice instead of excuses of social ills. It is the criminals that need to be dealt with. The notion that less guns means less criminals is a delusion. If the reaction to crime isn’t dealt with equally then the future commission of crime has no deterrent. Proactively restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens as an excuse to curb crime deters no one, and unjustly punishes the citizens these laws seek to protect.

When will all those who would restrict my rights realize that a right granted by government is a privilege, and my second amendment right acknowledged by the U.S. Constitution is granted by God? We posses these rights at birth. All mankind (regardless of ones belief in religion) is granted these rights. Our fledgling country was insightful enough to recognize and differentiate this important distinction. Government does not have the right to infringe upon those rights.
