One thing that I've heard about the AR-57 that wasn't immediately apparent is that you can't use the side rails with the mag inserted. Sounds like a bad design to me, but if having a really strange AR platform floats your boat, that's probably the strangest one out there.

I got my lower at valley forge, they were few and far between! I ended up getting a fully assembled one for a little under $300, it was actually the best deal there.

Beware of the parts kits though, as I'm learning the hard way the bolt catch I got was out of spec. (see my "ar-15 short stroking?" thread in this section, just posted in there a few hours ago)
