I think one important aspect of this story is that it is a real life illustration that counters the argument that only the police have the training and skill required to responsibly handle firearms.

The single shot to the back that kills Oscar Grant is caught on camera in the first video at about 2 minutes and 25 seconds in.



Granted that the videos may not tell the whole story, but if you look at the video below (about 40 seconds in) it looks more like a murder than an arrest. I mean really, while Oscar Grant is face down without resisting, the officer stands up to shoot him in the back?



This next link has the best unedited continuous video of the shooting that is available so far. The officer starts to stand up at about 55 seconds and pulls the trigger at about 60 seconds.
