I am reminded of the words of President Jackson, who - being an old Indian fighter - was not at ALL pleased with the majority opinion, written by Chief Justice John C. Marshall, in the
Cherokee Indians vs. State of Georgia decision of 1831 (locals wanted the Cherokee booted off their land, because gold had been discovered on it - Marshall believed it was a treaty violation to do so).
Jackson replied succinctly - "John Marshall has made his decision; now
let him enforce it." And thus began,
The Trail of Tears.
The MORALITY of that decision aside (may be tough for some folks to leave it, I know), but we
ALL know how wacky the courts are these days, what with scads of
crappy KLIN-TON appointees
everywhere, and
CONgress holding up MOST of Bush's. Next "ban"/confiscation that comes along, will be met - by
MOST, I
believe - with the same attitude, as Andrew Jackson's. "Now let them
enforce it."
WILL America tolerate a "Ruby Ridge," not in faraway rural Idaho, but on
EVERY STREET CORNER IN AMERICA?

Not for
LONG,
I think...
