I would not condone that. Punishing the kids? I mean, it's their personal choice of course but the kids are CLEARLY not afraid of anything. Honestly, if you went to a game you'd see that none of the parents even pay attention to me either. Think about this for just a minute (that's all the time you'll need to take, I promise). If you were nervous or uncomfortable around someone with a firearm wouldn't you be paying a LOT of attention to them? I can tell you half of them are so busy socializing with each other they are not paying attention to the game and the other half are actually watching and cheering. They are NOT watching me. How do I know this? Well, I watch enough to know what's going on most of the time but I am watching the rest of the park, parents etc. Ask me how many are there, where they are sitting, how many are sitting or standing, how many people are off to my right kicking around a ball, how many people walk over from the projects adjacent to the park etc. I can tell you. Situational awareness.

My husband took a chair to the last game we went to on Wednesday. He was going to get one for me and I said NO WAY. Less awareness if I am sitting down. I can't easily turn my body around to see what is going on in the rest of the park. I am not going to restrict my line of vision like that. Just me of course.
