Default Re: Breaking and entering

There is no need to shoot someone in your yard unless they have a gun and are threatening to shoot you in which case your life is in immediate danger and you can then "light them up".

If they are just banging on your door shoot them...with a video camera, while calling police. If in the meantime they break inside then you can "light them up".

Remember ask yourself if a reasonable man would consider his life or others lives to be in immediate danger if the answer is yes it will almost certainly be a good shoot, but if not you need to deescalate as much as possible and stay ready while on the phone with the police.

BTW you don't "light them up" unless you like civil suits; you "feared for your life and stopped an attack" after that your lawyer does the talking. Then again depending on where you are in Arkansas you may not have to worry about the law much, as people tend to have more sense in the country.

My cousin lives in Iowa and some crazy guy (lots of drugs) has followed him in a truck numerous times. My uncle went to the Sheriff and the Sheriff told him (this is not verbatim but close) "if he gets out of the truck and takes one step towards you drop him where he stands, make sure he's dead, and then call me".

Gotta love those good ole boys.

BTW: Cousin is 13 and now carries a deringer in his boot with both his dad and the sheriffs permission, and in Iowa everyone has a rifle or shotty in their vehicle.
