Dude, be careful how you phrase your questions on the internet, lest they come back and bite you HARD in the ass at the most inopportune moment.
And as far as self defense, I thought the only criteria was that you have to be in
fear for your life, before you can use lethal force. I dont think that the location, or other technicalities matter too much.
