+1 for handling that as well as you did.

It's my belief that if he truly was LEO, he would've already shown you his LEO badge and ID. I have a friend who used to work security at a mall AND was a police officer as well. Therefore, if he needed to use his powers of arrest as a LEO, he made it clear to whom he was arresting that he was indeed lawful to do so.

Also, nice job of keeping your legal knowledge of UFA and firearms laws on-hand and at-ready.
