When alcohol WAS illegal we saw the same problems with it as we do pot today, with the exception of prisons filing up (not as much enforcement back then)
And they have guns because when something is illegal you can't go to the cops if a deal goes bad. Same thing for a prostitute, she can't flag down a cop and say she was robbed or raped. The only solution is violence.
