As far as the "pot" thing goes, I notice on the internet there is often a pro-pot stance on forums and the debaters usually point fingers at alcohol being legal and drunks causing much societal harm.

But I don't see how that can be used as justification for saying pot is no big deal. It's more of an argument for prohibition.

Anyway, I draw the corollary thusly: If you really think that booze and pot are equivalent, assuming pot wasn't illegal, would you feel comfortable at the dinner table after a nice meal with your boss, parents or children:

a) having a wine or a beer or a scotch & soda

b) lighting up a joint

If you can honestly answer b), then let's just say you're either a liar trying to bust balls on an internet forum or... just not really the kind of person I'd care to be around (which I'm sure the feeling is mutual, to the satisfaction of both).
