Default Re: Comments from Candidate for Sheriff, Damon J. Brown

I would point out my wording might not have ment what I was thinking by outside I mean agencies from outside the county. One presumes if you suspect there is a problem with someone inside the county you could take steps with that party or agency before it becomes an issue. In theory the Sheriff is the top LEO in the county all other law enforcement are not senior to the sheriff. Yes, even Federal. No one out ranks the sheriff as the sheriff is responsible directly to the people. The people are alway the final. authority.

I would support such a bill but the passing of a such bill may be unlikely since all departments using sworn personal have the right to go to the District Attorney's office or a Judge/Magistrate for approval of their warrants. Although it would be a good thing if all of the warrants had to be at least recorded in the Sheriff's office.
The Sheriff supervises about 300 employees.

Thanks for the ideas/response and I hope this answers your questions
