I have had it in there for about 3 weeks and have already had to refresh it twice. The product page says 30-60 days between recharge.

My questions are these:
1. Do new safes have more moisture in them (from glues, carpet, etc) and will it eventually take that moisture out and then last longer between recharges?

2. Is there a better product that doesn't require power? I want to avoid a plug running outside of the safe if possible. I took this product over the packs, because I can just plug it in to refresh and don't have to mess with putting it in the oven.

I have one of those types in my handgun safe, a DAC SportSafe, recharge it one every other month.
