I take issue with this. The York County Sheriff reportedly told someone the same thing. Apparently, some Sheriffs believe that they are to conduct the appeals process themselves, which is ludicrous, since they are a party to the action and clearly have a conflict of interest.
An attorney is
highly recommended. Whether you use one or not, your recourse is through the Court of Common Pleas for your county,
and nowhere else.
