Default Re: Carrying Concealed In Philadelphia Is Illegal!!!

Before moving to Pennsylvania 6 years ago I thought handguns were illegal or highly regulated in Philly as well. I also thought that whatever applied to Philly probably applied to the rest of the state as well. I got the misinformation from my fiancee's family, who are not gun people. When I started getting back into guns I got more misinformation from the FFLs I dealt with. I didn't learn about the real laws until joining this site.

Even with me repeating the law to them over the past year, they still thought you needed a "permit" to even buy a gun, and certainly could not carry one. They also thought "Concealed Carry Permits" were next to impossible to get. Further, they thought that "Assault Weapons" were illegal, and that magazine capacity was limited. The idea of Open Carry nearly sent them into hysterics. Apparently they thought they lived in Washington, DC.

Now I have open carried around them, and since no SWAT team appeared and no little old ladied had heart attacks at Olive Garden they SHOULD be a little cooler about it. Her dad read the brochure, but he is an old hippie, and it may not be retained in his memory long.
