I wasn't involved in the earlier discussion on this thread. But my father in law showed me a Russian rifle he bought back in the 70's. Said he got it from Sears and paid $30 for it. The rifle looks an awful lot like the one's in the pic's. Can you tell me anything about it based upon the following information:
On the barrel forward of the action is the number 1936 followed by what looks like a right angle-basically the lower half of the letter "F." Below that is a six digit number that is repeated on the bottom of the "magazine." I assume that is the serial number? On the bolt is the number 3786 and the number 8607 appears on the butt plate.
