Takes videos as well. It works very well. I've upgraded so I no longer need this camera. I bought a new one when I was home on leave midway through my year in Baghdad. I took good care of it, don't worry about sand pouring out when you get it
If you want examples of the picture quality send me an e-mail and I'll send you some that I took overseas. There's a scuff on the front where the fingers go that didn't show up in the pictures. The only other little thing is when you zoom out the button doesn't make a clicking sound. It comes with an additional 128MB SD Card and the USB download cable. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. I can't find the owners manual right now but if I find it I will send it as well.
