I am writing to beg you to vigorously oppose HR 6257(Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008) if and when it comes before the Senate. Every sane citizen of this country knows that gun legislation, has no effect on criminal activity, and only effects law abiding citizens. The former weapons ban, had zero effect on crime. This bill is yet another assault on law abiding citizens' right to keep and bear arms, and I would hope, as my Representative(Senator), that you will go on record as opposing this strongly.
