If there is one round that will give you utter enjoyment of the shooting sports it is the 17 hmr, one of the most fantastic ideas to come along in the shooting world in a long timeexcept for maybe HK inventing the polymer handgun.
That being said, the 17 hmr is a very acccurate round and very good guns are made for it a t a very low price, the Savage 93 is a nice gun but i didnt like the cheap polymer stock, so i got the the Marlin 917 with the heavy barrel, what a gun, i can pop clay birds at 120 yards all day long. Mine has a 3x9 Bushnell scope on it, super accurate , laser like accuracy , hit whatever i aim at without any adjustmants to the scope very flat shooting round.
You will have fun with it.
