Its all fun and games until its YOU CCing and jo-popo sees your gun.
It matters not that the guy was running, or yelled he had a gun.. THERE WAS NO THREAT TO THE OFFICER. BG runs away, not facing the police. Where is the threat of harm? Other than the cop probably didn't want to run him down (or probably couldn't) why shoot when no one is in danger?
What if cop misses (you know they do shoot 30-40 rounds A YEAR)... I don't want some ACT 120 hero popping caps in MY HOOD.
Some most people think the officer is a hero... OK... next time its your kid running away at a kegger and grabs his cell phone.. and well, you know the rest.
