Default Its only a firly gun if you think it

Some of you might remember the earlyer movies by Aronld Schwarzenegger One of the movies I am thinking of, his gun of choice is a rugger .22 ! Oh of course it looks more dangerous because of the attachments and it is made to look like a big gun. But under all the decorations, was the body of a mark ll.

Interesting some times how people see the size and color of a gun as dangerous or not. The wife had a lady smith mod.36 at one time, I could hide it in my hand. Every one thought it was a sweet little woman gun...
It was 38+P rated, and believe me, in that calliber it kicked a punch.

Seeing it only had a 1 inch barel, every one also thought that it was inaccurate, untill they saw her pull it out at the USPSA one day, there was a small plate, 3 cardboards, and an other plate, you had to shoot 3 rounds each cardboard, then drop the shilouettes at 15 yards. We all watched in anticipation knowing the score would be low because it was a revolver and every one else used pistols, yet she actually beat the scores of some of the pistols !

This little 5 rounder she had to load, speed load and still one bullet would be needed to fire the last plate if she did not miss a shot, so off she went with her first 5 shots, then speed loaded to continue, her last shot she decided to place a single bullet in the chamber. I still remember as she loaded the bullet, turned the gun to the target and R Morris next to me went "Click" but the gun went bang, and the plate came down. Every one figured she would have to shoot dry before she hit the chamber, yet her training was good enough to know just where to place the bullet to shoot it on the first try.

The Lady Smith really does look girly, but ill tell you what, If i needed a backup that was almost invisible, that is the one i would choose!

So remember, it's only a girly gun if you choose to make it that. All guns have the same potential, but depending on who is using it, the milage may vary. If the gun fits well in your hand, and you feel comfortable using it, beats any big gun you cant hold that you will shoot wild with. My wife cant get her finger up to the trigger of a 1911, so that gun for her would be usless, She does not like the Sigma 9mm, (the empty shells hit her in the head) yet my model 66 in .357 she will shoot and not worry about a thing.
At 50 yards she can hit a 4 inch plate 4 out of 10 tries with open sight on her single 6 Ruger .22, and to me that says much more then missing it 10 out of 10 with a .45
