Angry Re: A tale of three criminal records - and many missed opportunities

"Guns don't kill people. The justice system does!"

And coming from personal experience with a convicted Federal felon repeating his crimes and terrorizing my mother. And we couldn't get anyone to do anything. Lord willing, we'll never be in a similar situation because it was my family's own fault for renting to someone without doing both a credit or criminal background check. But frankly, that experience destroyed this Eagle Scout/Valedictorian/former Justice of the Peace's last iota of trust in the justice department and law enforcement's ability to protect me and my family.

Thank you kindly, but I'll trust myself to do the job - though it would be preferred if the government was responsible enough to handle the matter.

And I really feel bad for LEOs. I mean, how many frickin times do they have to risk their lives ( or !@$% lose them) busting these criminals until the judges will do their duty to keep society safe.

I really don't know if it's a plot, bureaucracy, incompetence, insanity or what.

I think we'd see crime plummet 80% if we passed a law that stated "No claim canbe made of wrong-doing in the result of injury or death if you were actively engaged in a violent crime."

Yes, if you're raping someone, involved in armed robbery, etc and someone shoots you and you suffer injury or death. Oh well...your parents should have raised you better.

Of course, our justice departments are more likely to pursue prosecution of law-abiding citizens than they are against repeat criminal offenders. Why? WHY? W-H-Y?
