Default Re: The LAST PA Real ID Hearing!!!

Reminder bump.

From May 15, 2008:
Quote:
That's right folks, with the addition of Rep. Brooks today, there are now ...

NINETY

Co-sponsors of HB 1351! No parties yet, but keep your eye on the ball, and keep the calls coming in! There is a freight-train rolling over Real ID in this Commonwealth, and you are part of the fun.

We want to reach a magical number of 135 (VETO-PROOF) co-sponsorship. We also have to be KEENLY aware of potential threats coming from many directions.

Ultimately, HB 1351 should be AMENDED to read identical to SB 1220. (Strengthen it.) Committees can often amend bills the OTHER DIRECTION, and with the administration pressuring for Real ID, and Penn-DOT already implementing 11 of the 18 benchmarks (including biometrics), we can look forward to a FIGHT over the language of this bill.

If and when this bill comes for a true hearing, we MUST have abundant public presence in the state capitol for that hearing to push for strengthening, instead of watering down, Rep. Rohrer's bill.

(NOTE: Rep. Brooks also came onboard with HR 278!) Whoever has been working that office -- Hurray!

Keep charging along.

More coming soon!

Aaron
