Default Re: My visit to the home of the National Tactical Invatational

Carnes,

We're not there with the sole intention of training others. This is not a training school designed to teach students. The men and women who run the annual NTI event meet each month to train together with each other. But anyone of good moral character and with a good attitude is invited to train with us.

You will learn by spending time with us and performing the drills alongside us. You'll learn some good techniques for drawstokes, reloads, the tap-rack-bang, etc by both watching us do them and from the Team Members correcting you as you need that help. But there won't be an instructor standing in front everyone at the range conducting the session like you see at a gun course. Its not all that much different than going to your local dojo and apprenticing.

Prior training is not required, but a basic knowledge of how your gun works helps. We do expect safe gun handling.

Credentialing? We don't ask anyone to provide proof of training classes when you show up at Study Group. But we do expect good attitudes.

To good to be true? Two people here in the thread have commented on Study Days. I've been involved for coming up on 10 years now. Its been a regular event on the Club calendar for nearly 15. But if you still don't believe it, come out and evaluate it for yourself in June.
