You should take a hunter safety course and I highly recommend it if you have never hunted before. But truthfully if you are an adult all you need is a driver's license and your SS# to purchase a license. I am not saying that is right, but walk into a store and they won't ask for your card unless you are a youth.

A resident hunting license is $20. If you want to archery hunt that is $16 extra, muzzleloader is $11 extra, resident bear is $16 extra.
