OK - So I already sorta figured it wasn't permitted to carry here....But I when I went to pick my 4yr. old son from preschool, I passed time leafing through the "public information bulletin board". There was a pamphlet hanging there titled
PA Title 55Ppublic Welfare specifically addressing Child Day Care Centers
http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/05...ap3270toc.html
It looked to be the reg that governed the facility.
I saw that there was a code regarding Firearms:
Quote:
§ 3270.79. Firearms.
Weapons, firearms and ammunition are prohibited in a child day care center.

Here's my beef.......
First of all - I didn't know I was shelling out BIG bucks for daycare. It was my wife's and mine understanding that this place was licensed as an education facility for children. Who knows....maybe that's just fancy speak for ‘daycare’? They also do 'after school' daycare stuff, Latchkey, etc... My sons go there to learn stuff with a curriculum - great program.
The FIREARMS issue is this......the preschool is in the downstairs of a church. There's a nice, typical, 'church hall' style large kitchen, a very large open room for meetings, kid parades, whatever, and then the large classroom/playroom.
At what point do I leave the church and enter the school????
When I pick him up, I enter the church (Carry legal), go downstairs and wait in a foyer area until the kiddies are brought out to us. I wonder if I'm legal just standing there waiting? It sounds like no-no if I were to enter the designated student activity areas.......but what's the line between church and school?
If you have an answer - give it a shot. I'm not DYING to know.....I'm just sharing what I was wondering while leafing through the pamphlet.
