U was in the Canadian Reserves when I was 17 back in 1977, and believe it or not, the Canadians and Americans mixed it up even back then.
There is nothing new to all of this, Many Americans go to Canadian bases and vice versa. When I went to Ft Benning, i met more then one French Canadian there, most who went up through the ranks and are now officers.
When I was a child, 6 or 7, I used to go shoot competition on the Macaza base. Believe it or not, a US base... In northern Quebec.
