Re: Chinese SKS
For some odd reason, (after 15 years of colecting) I picked up my first SKS yesterday. I swore that I would never get one. I also picked up a nice ChiCom. The prices have gone up, but I still got a deal. The weapon's design is top notch. It's only limitations seem to be magazine capacity and caliber, (neither of which are too bad to begin with.
I will have to admit that after fieldstripping the Norinco SKS that I found myself as enamoured with it as say any FAL, AK, FS2000, Robinson, M-1, HK, Springfield, Armalite, Valmet, AR, Daewoo or any other semi auto that I own -- even if it just was for the evening.
I guess that it fills the role of a fat chick, or a moped --- Fun to ride as long as your buddies don't see you.
Good Buy. Congrats!
