I keep hearing this, but I say no. Because negligence caused an accident doesn't mean it's not an accident.

Saying there are no accidental shootings, only negligent shootings is like saying there are no accidental motor vehicle crashes, only negligent motor vehicle crashes.

I'm reminded of Orwell's essay "Politics in the English Language" everytime I hear about there being "no such thing as an accidental discharge". This argument is purley political, if I shoot you and I didn't mean to, whether it was due to negligence or not, it is still accidental (even if I could be held criminally liable for my negligence).
