Thanks DanP,
I moved to Pike Co.[Milford] about 9 years ago from the Communist state of N.J..
All of the years that I had lived in N.J. left me with a bad taste in my mouth as far as the ownership of weapons/firearms. After serving my country for 4 years with the 82nd Airborne and then returning home, I wanted to become a LEO. A friend of mine, [a LEO ] suggested getting on with the town auxiliary force to get an idea of what one would go through as a LEO. During my 2 yrs. of service and waiting for a slot to open, I experienced a number of situations that told me that being a LEO takes alot out of you and you must have the right temperment. At that time I did not and moved along and got into aviation. Glad I took my friends advice and experienced just a very small part of what LEO's go through daily. I have been instructing aircraft systems to pilots and mechanics now for almost 21 years and truly love what I do. One thing I did enjoy getting back into was firearms/weapons. The town aux. force was allowed to carry weapons on duty and we had firearms training and quals along with the regular force. The amount of red tape you had to go thru to buy a weapon was crazy. That alone was the main reason that I only bought 1 weapon, [S&W Model 10 4" bbl ] and sold afew years latter. When I moved to Pa. and found out how a real state treats its people versus subjects, I found a re-newed interest in my 2nd Amdt. rights. I, along with my sons now enjoy shooting to relax, meet some really great people and more importantly, now have the God given right to protect Life, family and property. What a great state! Thanks for the opportunity to express myself here and keep up the good work that this forum provides for the people of Pa..
