Default Re: House passes H.R. 1955

Only 3 Dems voted against this.

For years I've been wasting my breath trying to convince lefties that the Dems care no more about civil liberties than Republicans, yet, despite overwhelming historical and contemporary evidence of Dems trampling all over our civil liberties and colluding with the "opposition", progressives continue to convince themselves that if only they can get more Dems elected, perhaps the situation will improve a bit.

Sometimes I feel like this entire country has volunteered for a full frontal lobotomy.

But then I talk with people online and in real life who know something is very foul with both major parties. There are so many of us, but why doesn't it make a difference? Because so many of us continue to convince ourselves that we have no choice-- we must vote for the lesser of two evils. There are a lot of other reasons too, some real stumbling blocks to building a united opposition. But I think the most important thing is for politically-aware people to get some balls, reject the two major parties and really embrace a vision that things don't always have to be this way and we're going to start changing it today.
