    Default gander mountain erie pa

so Wednesday i go into gander mountain to return my shoulder holster, as the back/shoulder straps are to small(48in) im in there trying other ones out, i go to exchange the old holster for the new one, and the clerk sees my hip holster and asks me to cover it up, i asked him why and he replies, " i know its an open carry state but when you are in a vehicle or a store that has policies against it, you need to conceal i informed him that i have my ltcf and he says i have to conceal it and thats all the ltcf is for". i checked my ltcf nowhere does it say anything about conceal carry, i have read the laws and am pretty sure i can carry it around my neck on a chain if i felt like doing so, also they have no signs at the doors saying anything of the sort, i mean ffs they are a gun store, people had pistols sitting on the counter and i have to cover up ?

sorry i hate grammar was i in the wrong? would just like to be informed if so

That guy doesn't know what he is talking about. In a vehicle there is no differentiation between open and concealed since you have to have a LTCF to carry in a vehicle. On another note, I doubt Gander Mtn has a specific policy against OC, however if they did then I suppose you would have to abide by it or leave. You didn't do anything wrong, carry on.

Gander Mountain by me (Pittsburgh area) has a sign that says you may concealed or open carry in accordance with state law.

    Actually, here is the sign:

gander mountain in scranton has a sign saying that all firearms need ot be checked at the customer service desk. and then underneath it has something that states that this does not include our customers who are legally carrying a firearm in accordance with state law. he was wrong.

Gander Mtn sign in this store doesn't say anything about open carry, just pertains to CCW. I haven't been there in a month.

Go back and re-read Bass Pro's sign. Only those being brought in for service, trade, etc must be checked. At the bottom it excludes licensed carriers.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

There's a reason I don't go there...and Peach St. has nothing to do with it.
There are more than enough Ma & Pa shops around that I would rather support.

Kudos to you, I would have just told him to go get fucked.
