It really makes me wonder just how many people experience failures with the XD but don't own up to it, in fear of putting foot in mouth? It's almost like all of the XD owners point out the GLOCK Kaboom, but fail to mention the documented and just as rare XD Kaboom.

I know lots of people who are very happy with their XD's, and I don't interrupt anyone when they recommend it. It's a great gun, I'm sure. But it sure as hell left a bad taste in my mouth.

Anyway...

I would like to know how the XD is the first "quantum leap in handgun technology" since GLOCK???? How exactly is this so? They copied off the GLOCK for the basics and changed a couple of things that 50% didn't like about the GLOCK (i.e. grip angle and lack of fancy safety gimmicks, half like them, half don't).

Philadelphia......

It's great that the XD got gun of the year by a magazine. That means nothing to me (advertising, business, yea, it's all there), not to mention they can't give the GLOCK gun of the year for the past 2 DECADES.

Enough about GLOCK though. I didn't intend my original post being a GLOCK VS XD post. Lots of people own the XD and love it, more so than their glocks. I'm sure it's a great gun. But two XD's, same day, both failures, is just too much for me to ever like them. It's a bummer because the XD-9 sub was a really comfortable, great shooting gun. Same accuracy as the GLOCK, and perhaps it was even more comfortable. But I'll trade off that little bit of "hand" comfort for the comfort of knowing my gun will go bang. Again, I'm not saying that the XD won't go bang if I were to get another, but "I" KNOW that the glock will (purely personal comfort/trust issue).
You bash the XD, we provide support from experience and reliable sources, you go Glock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock GlockGlock Glock Glock.

yep, that about a summation of the thread...cool out man, you had one bad experience with an XD, we've had many many good experiences to equal you 15,000 round perfection many times over. No one is trying to make this thread a pissing contest for which firearm is better...glocks are good, I know it...I don't care.
