A suspected murderer — possibly still armed — is on the loose in State College, police say.
Antonio Lorenzio Winkleman, wanted in Cambria County for shooting and killing 51-year-old Scott Ickes with a handgun around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, was identified at the Super 8 Motel, 1663 S. Atherton St., but fled through a window when police arrived at his room, State College Police Lt. Dana Leonard said Thursday night.
Police took into custody his co-defendant, Heather Head, who was also wanted by Adams Township police between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Thursday at the motel, Leonard said.
After making “contact” with Head, Winkleman escaped through the hotel room window and is believed to be on foot near Branch Road and Atherton Street.
Winkleman is described as a light-skinned black man, 5 foot 8 inches, 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, sweatpants, Timberland boots and no hat. He may have a long-sleeved gray shirt under his jacket.
He is considered to be extremely dangerous and possibly armed.

He is not believed to have access to a car, police said.
A reverse calling system is being used to notify residences and businesses “within reasonable distance of Branch Road and Atherton Street,” Leonard said.
“The fugitive ... is at large, and at this time we still believe he’s at the vicinity of Branch Road and South Atherton,” he said.
Citizens are asked to report any sightings to the Centre County 911 center. Police urge people not to approach Winkleman.
