Amends Titles 18 (Crimes and Offenses) and 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) further providing, in general principles of justification, for definitions, for use of force in self-protection, for use of force for the protection of other persons and for licenses to carry firearms; providing for civil immunity for use of force; and further providing for sentences for offenses committed with firearms.

SB 1205 By Hughes Amends Title 18 (Crimes & Offenses) further providing that if the reasonable efforts of the PA State Police and the local law enforcement agency required under section 6111.1(b)(4) (relating to Pennsylvania State Police) fail to identify the lawful owner of a confiscated firearm or if the lawful owner of a confiscated firearm is identified but otherwise prohibited from possessing it, the firearm must be destroyed, unless it is evidence in an ongoing investigation. A registry will be created to catalog all firearms confiscated and destroyed.
