Thank you all for the replies, advice, and suggestions. Clearly some more thought needs to go into this and the feedback from everyone will help both of us in weighing this issue.

I already had reservations about the recoil and know full well that a light firearm kicks harder regardless of the style, but simply had no experience regarding +P rounds. One option would be to purchase some and put them thru my Rossi along with some standard .38's and the .357's and both judge it for ourselves. I'm also going to have her spend some range time with my Glock 19 and see what she thinks of it.
