Default Question on Marlin 39A with Bushnell Scope

I picked up a Marlin 39A with a 3x-7x Custom .22 scope made by Bushnell.
Love the rifle, but I haven't figured out how to adjust the elevation and windage on the scope...maybe I'm just stupid.

First, I haven't had a scope on a rifle in years, so consider me a novice with them (in other words, figure I know nothing).
There are no "click" type adjustments. The elevation knob..or what I think should be elevation knob unscrews but doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Any thoughts...or point me in the right direction. I've already checked out Bushnell's web site. The instructions there are for the "click" type adjustments.

Thanks in advance!
